TEXAS TACTICAL
RANGE RULES: V2.5

PURPOSE: The following Range Rules and Regulations are
established to insure safety and conduct for members
and guests on the ranges property as well as safety
for our neighbors and the surrounding community.
ENFORCEMENT: All Members are required to enforce these
rules. All members in good standing are expected to politely
point out to any shooter in violation of these rules,
the nature of the violation, request that they stop
and report the incident along with the violator's name
to the Rangemaster for review.
PENALTY: The Rangemaster will review all reports of
range violations and after meeting with the member or
members in question, will take one of the following
actions:
- No Action;
- Verbal warning
- Written warning
- Temporary Suspension of
membership;
- Membership revocation.
Including loss of membership fees.
SAFETY:
Safety First!! Safety will always be first and foremost for
any and all activities on the range.
RANGE RULES:
- All guns are always loaded. Always assume that any
firearms you come in contact with are loaded until
you have personally checked and re-checked its
condition. Anytime that a firearm leaves your
possession assume that it is loaded until you
re-verify its condition.
- Never let your muzzle cover
anything you are not willing to destroy. Always be
conscious of the direction of your muzzle. Do not
cover yourself or others with a loaded or unloaded
firearm.
- Keep your finger off the
trigger until your sights are on the target. This
includes holstering, unholstering, reloading,
clearing malfunctions, cleaning, and any
gunhandling.
- Be sure of your target and
whatever is behind it.
- Hours of operation: 0900hrs to
sunset.
- The Rangemaster has complete
control over all range activities.
- All prospective members must
go through a range orientation prior to full
membership.
- Before anyone goes forward of the firing line, all firearms shall
be made safe. All actions must be open and
magazines removed.
- Due to provisions in our insurance and out of respect for the
neighbors, no incendiary or explosive devices may
be used on range property. IE: Tracers, Tannerite.
- Only use designated target
stands to hang targets.
- Only shoot at designated
targets.
- Place targets safely on range.
- Steel targets may only be
engaged with handguns and or birdshot with
shotguns. (No Rifles and No Slugs!!)
- Steel targets must be engaged
in a safe manner and may not be engaged from
closer than 10 yards.
- No alcohol is permitted on any
range.
- The use of illegal drugs is
forbidden on Range property. (automatic
expulsion).
- Members must conspicuously
wear membership card while on the range property.
- Membership cards may not be loaned to other individuals.
- All children on the property must be supervised by an
adult at all times.
- Guests may accompany a member
up to 3 times a year. After that they must
purchase their own membership.
- Members are responsible for
any guests. They must inform guests of rules and
supervise them at all times.
- Inspect range for occupants,
livestock, hazards etc., prior to use.
- When shooting from outside the
confines of the berms IE:(long range rifle)
everyone present on the range must agree and
establish a new firing line that must be adhered
to until all agree otherwise.
- Glass targets are not
permitted on any range at any time.
- Shooters must clean the range
of their trash after each use, including; used
targets, brass and shotgun shells.
- Politely and positively
respond when corrected concerning a violation of
range rules.
- The appropriate legal forms
must accompany all class III weapons.
- All shots must impact the
berms not the firing range deck.
- Be aware of any situation that
might cause any shot to ricochet in an unsafe
direction. Including over the berm.
- It is mandatory that any
person making use of or being present on an active
range wear appropriate eye and ear protection.
- You must insure that any gates
that you encounter, while traveling to the range,
remain in the condition that you encounter them in
IE: Open or closed. There is livestock on the
property.
- The range gate must remain
closed and locked at all times. This ensures that
only members will have access to the range.
Creating a safer environment for all on the range.
- Absolutely no hunting is
allowed on range property.
- Members agree to take full
responsibility for any damage to the range,
equipment and surrounding property due to any
action on their part. (beyond normal wear and
tear)
- When you are finished shooting please move all equipment
(Barricades, target stands, etc.) forward and off
to the sides. This prevents the equipment from
being damaged from errant shots.
- The Range shall not be responsible for personal property left on
the range property.
It is the responsibility
of each member to obey these rules and to enforce them
at all times. Any
violations, serious injuries, incidents or accidents
should be reported to the RangeMaster immediately.
RANGE USAGE: All scheduled
use of any range shall take precedence over individual
or personal activities. |
