MATCH DESCRIPTION |

The defensive shotgun is the ultimate in stopping power in a Close Quarters
confrontation!
|
|
| |
The objectives of these matches are: |
|
| |
1. To help familiarize people with the manual of arms of
one of the most popular and effective weapons in
history...the "Defensive Shotgun". |
|
| |
2. To help people improve and test their skills. |
|
| |
3. To promote safe and friendly competitions that are
open to all shooters. |
|
| |
4. To provide a venue where people of like mind can
gather for camaraderie and to exchange knowledge, ideas
and training concepts. |

COURSES OF FIRE
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
Courses of fire will be practical and realistic in
nature. They will utilize reactive steel, balloons and
paper. Cover must be used when available (unless
otherwise stated by the COF). Reloads must be done
behind cover when available or a shooter may do tactical
reloads on the move as long they aren't exposed to any
threats that haven't been neutralized. Targets will be engaged in
Tactical Priority. |

Divisions of Competition |
|
| |
There are
three divisions of competition. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
1. MANUAL - Manual Division will include any
manually operated shotguns, pump, bolt action, lever
actions (6 rounds max to start.) |
|
| |
2. AUTO - Auto division is for any autoloading
shotguns. (6 Rounds max to start) |
|
| |
3. OPEN - Open division is for any shotguns with
compensators, optics, and or any shotgun using
detachable magazines. Open shotguns may also be
loaded to capacity. (Any competitor who wishes to load
to full capacity may compete in Open Division.) |

| |
To help maintain a level playing field within the MANUAL
and AUTO divisions, shotguns will be loaded with 6
rounds maximum to start unless otherwise stated by the
course of fire.
SPEED LOADERS ARE FORBIDDEN FOR ALL DIVISIONS |

Who May Participate? |
|
| |
Any "SAFE" shooter may participate in these matches!! We have shooters of all ages , shapes and sizes. We have shooters of all different skill levels from Novice to Master! |

What Equipment Do I Need to Participate? |
|
| |
|
|
| |
1. A serviceable shotgun.
|
|
| |
2. Eye and Ear protection. |
|
| |
3. Approximately 80 to 100 rounds of birdshot. (bring
extra just in case) |
|
| |
4. A handgun and holster (for transitions or to finish a
course of fire if your shotgun malfunctions) |
|
| |
5. A good attitude and a willingness to have FUN!! |
|
| |
6. $20 match fee |

AMMUNITION |
|
| |
Birdshot only will be used to engage any steel targets.
Occasionally a course of fire might require a few rounds
of buckshot or slugs. If anything other than birdshot is
required we will inform the competitors in the match
announcements. |
